BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES:

Bibliographies: These are really good references/resources. I really recommend the Boas brochure if you have never taught a lesson on the Holocaust.

This is an excellent website that lists Internet links to resources on the Holocaust and Holocaust literature. There is a list of short stories and narratives from Holocaust survivors. Students could choose a few of these and write essays.

This resource packet provides a various ideas, lessons, and activities to teach about the Holocaust. It includes a list of Holocaust literature for teachers.

Kaplan, P. (1998). Learning about the Holocaust. Voice of Youth Advocates, 21(5), 335- 336.
This journal article explores many ways to introduce young adults to materials dealing with the Holocaust and offers different resources to help young adult librarians. One of the important facts about this journal is that it meets the needs of the user’s level of interest such as suggesting films, Internet sites, reference titles and museums dealing with the subject of the Holocaust.

This site is a compiled resource list of children’s Holocaust literature for teachers.

Rochman, H. (1998). Bearing witness to the Holcaust. Book Links,7(3), 8-14.
This article is the first in a series about Holocaust Literature for young adults. It is informative on how teachers can select, teach and promote books about the Holocaust and gives ideas on how to link these stories with racism. This article includes a list of individual books and references to print and non print teaching resources, and lists a bibliography of books for middle school students and high school students.
